Frequently asked questions
Questions and answers
The things hosts ask before the party — and the things guests ask on the night. Missing one? Write to support@whogame.app.
How does WhoGame work?
You create an event and share one link. Guests submit a photo and a few facts about themselves, you approve everything in a moderation queue, and everyone guesses who is who — or you flip it around with the surprise quiz and build the whole game about your guests yourself. Either way the leaderboard crowns a winner — and whatever the mode, the point is the same: the guests get to know each other better.
Do guests need an app or an account?
No. Guests open a link or scan a QR code, type their name and play in the phone browser. No app store, no password, no email address.
What does it cost?
One price per event, with every way of playing included — no subscription and no per-guest fee. Prices are shown including VAT; see the pricing page for the current price.
What is the difference between live and at-your-own-pace?
In live mode the questions run on a big screen and everyone answers at the same time, controlled by you or your toastmaster. In at-your-own-pace mode each guest plays the full set on their own phone within a window you set — for the week before the party, or for venues without a screen.
What is the surprise quiz?
A mode where the guests prepare nothing. You build the quiz about them in secret — a photo, how you know them and one true fun fact each, and the AI assistant can write the two fake facts for you. At the party guests scan a QR code, find their name and guess what's true about everyone else; when the game ends, the leaderboard and a who-is-who directory open, filterable by table.
What happens to the photos afterwards?
Everything is hosted in the EU and deleted automatically 7 to 90 days after the event — 30 by default — and you can delete it all immediately with one button. Photos are never public: they are served through short-lived links only.
How many guests can play?
WhoGame is built for a full wedding — around 80 guests answering at once on venue Wi-Fi — and the design works for players from 8 to 88.
Can our toastmaster run the game?
Yes. Invite up to three co-hosts by email; they can approve submissions, check off attendance and run the game — without access to your billing and without the power to delete the event.
What if someone never submits a photo?
They can still join and play — they just will not appear in any question. Submitting takes under two minutes on a phone, so most guests make it in.
Does it work for company events and schools?
Very well — childhood photos work the same magic on colleagues and classmates, and you can set your own photo theme if childhood feels wrong for the office. At-your-own-pace mode needs no screen and no AV setup; see the pages on team building and campus events.
Can we try it before creating anything?
Yes — a permanent demo party runs from the landing page with eight invented guests, and you can play the full set alone at any hour. Hosts also get a rehearsal mode to run a private practice game before the real one.
Can we add our own questions about the couple?
Yes — up to ten of your own questions (“Where did we meet?”), each with four answers, woven in between the guest rounds. The guests never see them coming, and they score like every other question.
What if two guests tie for the win?
Ties are broken by total answer time first. If the tie still stands, the podium says so honestly — and the host can fire a sudden-death round built from unused material: one extra question, only the finalists may answer.
Can we keep the photos before they are deleted?
Yes. The event owner can download everything as one ZIP — every approved photo plus a spreadsheet of guests, facts and final standings — from the event’s settings, any time before the deletion date. We delete, you keep.
